When we first started out in Real Estate 23 years ago, Cochrane was not a town you took home Buyers on a budget to. In fact back then, Cochrane homes were 15% more expensive than their Calgary counterpart.
Then came the unprecedented development of our town. Sunset, Heritage Hills, Heartland, Fireside, Riversong, The Willows, Precedence & Riviera are all less than 20 years old and have fueled the growth of Cochrane from 13,000 people in 2008 to +/- 40,000 people in 2024.
These new neighbourhoods (with more to come) have bolstered Cochrane's housing inventory, which in turn has led to slower price growth than Calgary. As of June 2024, Cochrane homes are 6% more affordable than their Calgary counterparts.
